Deputy Coordinator of the Spending Review
Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Sciences and graduated in Advanced Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid. She completed doctoral studies in the specialties of economic theory, economic policy and econometrics at the Complutense University and the Banco de España training centre. Her career has focused on issues related to the financial and banking sector and on financial stability. She is a graduate of the Banco de España’s study service since 1986, having developed his professional activity in different Directorates-General of the Bank: Economy and Statistics, Financial Stability, and Supervision, where she has worked so far in the coordination group with the Single Supervisory Mechanism. From 2012 to 2016 she worked as a National Seconded Expert in the European Commission, in the Directorate-General Financial Stability, Financial Services and CMU and there she was a member of the team in charge of coordinating and monitoring the Spanish financial programme. During 2002-2004 she served as Senior National Expert at the European Central Bank in the Directorate-General for Economics. Previously, during different periods she was professor in the specialty of economic theory at the Complutense University of Madrid, at ICADE and associate professor at the Universidad Carlos III.
