The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) endorses and considers feasible the forecasts for 2023 presented by Galicia. The institution notes that these forecasts are made in a context of uncertainty that makes their assessment difficult at the national level, but even more so at the territorial level. Galicia’s forecast for 2023 is higher than AIReF’s, but it is within the range of analysts’ consensus estimates and is lower than that included in the macroeconomic table accompanying the General State Budget. Furthermore, the estimate of GDP growth at current prices for the Community, 5% in 2023, is identical to AIReF’s estimate.
According to the Law creating AIReF, the macroeconomic forecasts included in the draft budgets of all the Public Administrations must have a report from the institution indicating whether they have been endorsed.
