AIReF is a fiscal supervisor that must guarantee budgetary stability. To achieve this, it continuously evaluates the budgetary cycle, public debt and economic forecasts through the reports established by law. It also issues recommendations governed by the comply or explain principle.
AIReF has carried out significant evaluation activity for years, which is now one of the pillars of the institution. The objective is to help develop more effective and efficient policies for citizens.
Through its supervision and evaluation functions, AIReF ensures compliance with its main mission: safeguarding the sustainability of public finances as a way to ensure economic growth and the welfare of Spanish society in the medium and long term. In addition to reports and studies, AIReF analyses the main challenges facing public finances and develops tools to analyse these challenges.
AIReF provides users with its data, projections and tools to comprehensively monitor the evolution of the economy and the fiscal situation. The institution has models to analyse key parameters such as compliance with stability targets, real-time GDP evolution, GDP by Autonomous Community and public debt evolution.
Analyse variables such as deficit, debt, GDP, revenues or expenditures of each Autonomous Community and compare them. It also includes forecasts and AIReF reports.
The interactive Local Corporations Observatory, with more than 20 million economic and financial data points from nearly 8,200 local corporations.
This interactive tool allows users to easily view the recommendations issued and the responses provided by each government agency.
An interactive data visualization tool for the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) that tracks the funds flowing into the real economy.
Inés Olóndriz was appointed President of AIReF, following deliberation by the Council of Ministers, by Royal Decree 280/2026 of March 31, after securing the support of an absolute majority of the Finance Committee of the Congress of Deputies.
La AIReF tiene por objeto velar por la sostenibilidad de las finanzas públicas como vía para asegurar el crecimiento económico y el bienestar de la sociedad española a medio y largo plazo.
La AIReF cuenta con cuatro divisiones formadas por equipos de dilatada experiencia y conocimientos técnicos en sus respectivas especialidades, lo que refuerza su capacidad para desarrollar la misión encomendada con independencia y objetividad.
