The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) endorses the forecasts of the Government’s macroeconomic scenario, according to the Report published below.
AIReF considers that “the Government’s macroeconomic scenario accompanying the Draft 2018 General State Budget is prudent as a whole”. On the domestic front, it states, “the worst scenarios that could be glimpsed in October as a result of the institutional crisis in Catalonia seem to have faded”, and adds that “the Spanish economy as a whole has performed better than expected at the start of the year, to which the moderation of political and institutional uncertainty has contributed”.
