“Our mission is to guarantee effective compliance of the financial sustainability principle by the General Goverment”

AIReF organises a series of workshops with MIS mediators to incorporate their experience in the upcoming evaluations of the benefit scheme

The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) has organised a workshop today with the entities registered in the Minimum Income Scheme (MIS) Social Mediators Register with a view to continuing to incorporate their knowledge and experience in addressing the upcoming evaluation of the benefit scheme.

Impressions were shared at the workshops on the design limitations and difficulties in implementing the benefit scheme. The entities outlined the reality of those who apply for the MIS, the processing of the benefits and their activity as mediators. For its part, AIReF outlined the results of the evaluations and its proposals to move towards a more agile, faster and direct provision of this scheme.

At present, AIReF is working on the third evaluation, under which the first five modules will be updated and expanded on and the sixth module on coverage and scope will be developed to address situations of sudden poverty. In its future opinions, AIReF will analyse the inclusive capacity of the MIS and its effects on the labour market and complementary nature and overlaps with other non-contributory benefits.
