The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) publishes the individual reports on the Initial Budgets of the Autonomous Regions (RG) for 2024, with which it completes the overall analysis of the general government sector.
For the sub-sector as a whole, the institution estimates a deficit of 0.1% in 2024, in line with the forecasts in the Budget Plan and higher than the balance included in the Stability Programme. AIReF’s forecasts for 2024 put the growth in eligible expenditure for the purposes of the expenditure rule at 5.7%, four tenths of a percentage point of GDP above the level set by the reference rate of 2.6%.
