Director of the Budget Analysis Division
Ignacio Fernández-Huertas was appointed Director of the Budget Analysis Division by the Council of Ministers on March 10th, 2020, upon a proposal from the President of AIReF, Cristina Herrero.
Ignacio holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Madrid and has been a State Commercial Technician and Economist since 2006. He has formed part of the AIReF team since 2014 where he held the position of Subdirector-General of the State and Social Security at the Budget Analysis Division, after working initially as an advisor to the President of AIReF on budget affairs and institutional relations. Prior to joining AIReF, he was the Subdirector-General of Territorial Programming and Evaluation of EU Programmes at the Directorate-General of EU Funds and Advisory Member of the same directorate-general and at the Office of the State Secretary for Finance and Budgets. He had previously held different positions in the field of competition.
