Deputy Director of Macroeconomic Forecasts
Leandro is responsible for the analysis, modelling and monitoring of the Spanish macroeconomic situation at a national and regional level, along with the forecasts of the medium- and long-term macroeconomic outlook and AIReF’s population projections.
Leandro holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1999, and studied a postgraduate course in the analysis of economic policies (Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research, Kiel Institute for the World Economy). He joined the High Service of State Statisticians in 2006. Between 2009 and 2018, he was the Department Coordinator and Advisory Member of the Sub-Directorate-General for Financing and Management of Public Debt at the Directorate-General of the Treasury and Financial Policy. Between 2003 and 2009, he was the Programme Director and Technical Advisor at the Sub-Directorate-General of National Accounts of the National Statistics Institute.
