AIReF Divulga, the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) microsite dedicated to making public finances more accessible to non-specialist audiences, marks its first year since its launch in June 2025.
Over the past year, we have published a total of 46 posts explaining complex concepts to the public, such as the expenditure rule, the new fiscal framework, fiscal risks and the keys to understanding public debt and the pension system.
We have also gradually expanded our glossary with new terms, updated the interactive quiz twice and published relevant content in our dedicated student area.
AIReF Divulga has recorded more than 10,170 visits and almost 3,500 unique users, reflecting the public’s growing interest in better understanding how public finances work, the sustainability of spending and public policy assessment.
Among the posts most visited by our users, three topics stand out that address some of the big questions in today’s economic debate: the sustainability of the pension system, the expenditure rule and public debt in Spain. The success of AIReF Divulga reflects public demand for rigorous, accessible explanations of complex issues that affect society as a whole.
AIReF Divulga was created to reinforce the institution’s commitment to transparency and accountability, offering rigorous content tailored to a broad audience.
Looking ahead, AIReF will remain committed to making economic knowledge widely available, helping to build a better-informed society that is better equipped to understand the economic and fiscal debate.
