The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) has approved a Resolution calling for applications under the new round of scholarships for Universities and other Academic Centres to promote training and research in the field of economic and budgetary analysis for fiscal stability and sustainability. AIReF has also improved the programme’s financial allocation. Both the Resolution published today on AIReF’s website and the extract in the Official State Gazette (BOE) can be consulted at this link.
AIReF launched this programme in 2015. It consists of a call for applications for funding for Universities and other Centres that are ultimately allocated to scholarships for interns. This is the tenth call for applications promoted by AIReF, following the success of previous years. To date, around 90 students have benefited from a training or research scholarship at AIReF.
This year, AIReF has also raised the total allocation of the programme to €183,000 for this year’s round, 14.4% more than in the previous edition.
The scholarships will last for 12 months for each promotion of interns and will be financed from AIReF’s budget. They will be awarded to participants in the training programmes through selected beneficiary bodies (Universities and Academic Centres) with which AIReF will sign the corresponding agreement.
The funding is organised through two scholarship programmes:
- Training Programme, whose training work will be related to the work carried out by AIReF’s different Divisions. The financial allocation has been increased this year to €1,350/month per student.
- Research Programme, with significant academic content and linked to specific projects. This year’s allocation has been increased to €1,700/month per student.
Eligible beneficiaries are entities and scholarship students that meet the requirements set out in Base 2 of Resolution 1/2025 of AIReF President’s Office.
Applications for this year’s round must be submitted electronically to AIReF’s electronic office within a maximum of 20 working days from the day after the publication in the Official State Gazette of the extract of this call for applications.
