“Our mission is to guarantee effective compliance of the financial sustainability principle by the General Goverment”

Joint report on budget execution, public debt, and the expenditure rule for 2026, and on the 2026-2027 economic-financial plan of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands

The Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands must submit an economic-financial plan (EFP) due to non-compliance with the expenditure rule in 2025, which must be reviewed by the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility, AAI (AIReF), before its approval by the Council for Fiscal and Financial Policy (CPFF).

AIReF confirms that the Canary Islands’ EFP includes the sections required under Article 21 of the LOEPSF (Organic Law on Budgetary Stability and Financial Sustainability), although its content shows some shortcomings in certain sections.
