Joint Report on Budget Execution, Public Debt, and the 2026 Spending Rule, and on the 2026–2027 Economic and Financial Plan of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country

The Autonomous Community of the Basque Country must submit an economic and financial plan (PEF) due to noncompliance with the spending rule in 2025; this plan must be reviewed by the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) prior to its approval by the Council for Fiscal and Financial Policy (CPFF).

The AIReF states that the Basque Country’s PEF includes the sections required by Article 21 of the LOEPSF, but that it has shortcomings.
