The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) has published the technical documents that support the Opinion on the Long-term Sustainability of the Public Administrations, presented on March 31. In these documents, AIReF carries out a detailed analysis of the income and unemployment model, the health, education and long-term care models and the expenditure, sufficiency and equity of the pension system.
Specifically, AIReF concludes that the latest reform increases pension spending mainly through an increase in the average pension and we observe a reduction in the number of people who anticipate retirement. The reform increases system spending by 2.7 points of GDP until 2050 and raises revenues by 1.4 points of GDP.
