The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) today endorsed the macroeconomic forecasts of the draft General State Budget for 2026, which estimate real GDP growth of 2.9% in 2025 and 2.2% in 2026, figures that are within the most likely range of confidence intervals around the AIReF forecasts published on October 29.
In accordance with Article 14 of Organic Law 6/2013 of November 14, which created AIReF, public administrations must request that this institution issue a report on the macroeconomic forecasts included in draft budgets or in the Medium-Term Fiscal Plan (MTFP), indicating whether these forecasts are endorsed. On November 13, AIReF received the official request to issue the report on macroeconomic forecasts until 2026, which will be incorporated into the 2026 General State Budget.
