The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) endorses the forecasts accompanying the 2026 draft budget of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, presenting estimates for growth in gross domestic product (GDP) in terms of volume, the GDP deflator, and employment in terms of persons employed for the period 2024-2028, which differ from the latest estimates of the macroeconomic scenario for the country as a whole.
Extremadura estimates GDP growth in terms of volume of 1.3% for 2026. This forecast is between the 40th and 60th percentiles of AIReF’s estimates (central forecast of 1.5%) and is lower than the forecasts made by other agencies for the region.
