The Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF) today published individual reports assessing the draft budgets and key budgetary guidelines of each of the 17 Autonomous Regions (ARs). These reports complement the general report on public administrations published on October 29, which included an analysis of the subsector as a whole, and the supplementary report on local authorities published on October 31. With these reports, AIReF completes its analysis.
For the subsector as a whole, AIReF forecasts balances close to equilibrium between 2026 and 2030. In 2025, there will be a deterioration in the balance, but the situation will improve from 2026 onwards. Between 2026 and 2030, balances close to equilibrium are expected, although with slight variations in 2027, with a surplus of 0.1% of GDP, and in 2030, with a deficit of 0.1% of GDP.
