AIReF has a legal mandate to report each year in July on budget execution, public debt, and the expenditure rule for the various public administrations (AAPP). This is a key report in the fiscal oversight cycle, in which AIReF updates its macroeconomic and fiscal forecasts and analyzes the risk of noncompliance with fiscal rules.
The report is published alongside the supplementary report on local governments and the reports on the Economic and Financial Plans (PEFs) of the autonomous communities required to submit them following their failure to comply with the national spending rule in 2025.
